Diwali

Diwali is one of the most popular Indian festivals. It signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. During this festival, people light lamps in their houses and create motifs with colors called rangoli. People pray to goddess Lakshmi who is the goddess of wealth and prosperity. In some region people also celebrate the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile.
